About

Dear JMeterians, it is a pleasure for me to greet you from the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, in Chiapas, belonging to México. It would suffice to say that I am delighted to welcome your presence at this space we have designed to disseminate knowledge and practice of the JMeter tool in our mother tongue, Spanish. (But also available in English, French and Português)

Without further ado, let me introduce myself, my name is Juan Antonio Jiménez Nolasco and I am an Electronic Systems Engineer graduated from the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Querétaro in 2005, since that year I joined the ranks of Technical Support at Banco Santander located in the same city, after a few months I had the need to migrate to the Software Quality area where I began my career as a Testing Engineer. At first it was not so exciting because the tasks were ambiguous and quite repetitive, but over time I learned to use tools to perform functional and non-functional testing that made me interested in the subject, although the information was scarce.

In the year 2008 I decided to move to Monterrey to work at Softtek, I have to admit that it was an enormous challenge due to my poor written and spoken English level, let alone terrible. But my desire to learn and improve helped me a lot in overcoming this barrier. The English language allowed me to learn much about the tools for software testing, methodologies, processes, and good practices. In conclusion, it opened doors to extensive information that shaped my perspective on software testing.

In the year 2010, I entered Bank of America through Accenture and it was there where all my capabilities were unleashed. The LoadRunner tool became an extension of me, and fortunate for me, I had the privilege to meet excellent friends and mentors such as Ageo Dámaso and Oscar García among others. There, I learned a lot about performance and root cause analysis because there were countless hours spent investigating performance defects that sometimes originated from patches, configurations, false positives, or some we could never determine.

In the year 2012 I encountered the tool JMeter but to be honest, I didn’t give it much importance, although in 2014 when I joined Banco Interacciones in Mexico City as Internal IT Auditor’s Subdirector, I realized that my job was too managerial and not technical enough, which is why I decided to look for external projects on my own, projects that could be handled during my free time. Thus, I began my Freelancer career with the tool JMeter.

Through the companies Applause - Utest and Upwork, I began to have clients. In 2016, I decided to work exclusively remotely as a freelancer, and up until this day, I do not regret that decision.

In Applause - I met a great manager and friend, Rebecca Clinard, together we have handled various projects with large clients. All these were executed using the tool JMeter and the platform Blazemeter, which served as our load generators in the cloud. At the same time, I decided to work on complete projects through Upwork, developing and managing all the E2E testing of performance, load, and stress.

In the year 2018 I started publishing articles for Flood.io and currently I am working remotely in this large company that is small but quite friendly and flexible. My primary function is to provide technical support to clients using the platform. Among these activities, one of the most recurrent is reviewing and correcting JMeter scripts from clients so they can obtain valuable and compelling information about their applications, as well as supporting them and guiding them in their root cause analysis.

Finally, I share that the origin of this site was due to common interest among Carlos Godínez, Delvis Echeverría, Leandro Meléndez and myself, to support the community of performance testing engineers, due to the lack of Spanish material and confusion. Our mission is to help you, you have arrived at the right place, just ask the correct questions.
